# I Have Found a Great Resident Candidate and Wish to Close the Application On OPRESCAS, How Do I Do That?

To close an application to prevent any additional persons from applying, simply change the "Default Deadline" to any day before today's date.  For example, if today's date is 2/16/2023, setting the Default Deadline to 2/15/2023 would make the application on OPRESCAS no longer visible.  You must also [inform the other applicants via email that the position has been filled and they were not selected](https://ncope.org/index.php/docs/what-should-i-tell-an-applicant-that-was-not-selected-as-a-resident-for-out-clinic/).
