# I Received my Orthotist/Prosthetist Training Outside of the US, Can I Enroll in an NCOPE Accredited Residency?

Since the inception of the modern O&P residency standards, multiple persons who received their orthotist/prosthetist training outside of the US have registered and completed an NCOPE Accredited residency program and subsequently sought US-based certification via [ABC](https://abcop.org).

To assist persons who earned their orthotist/prosthetist degree outside of the United States, NCOPE has created a resource page to provide guidance about the education requirements and links to services, including the World [Education Service (WES)](https://www.wes.org/partners/wes-evaluation-reports/) for degree evaluations and the [US Department of State](https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas.html) for information on obtaining a VISA for persons who are not US Citizens.

*Please note that NCOPE cannot sponsor visas for persons who are not US citizens and sponsorship must be facilitated through the residency program sponsor organization.*
