Orthotic \/ prosthetic residency programs serve as the second half of a practitioner’s education providing a structured real-world professional experience.\u00a0 The O&P residency standards<\/a> and guidelines are designed to complement the entry-level academic training provided by graduate level orthotist\/prosthetist programs<\/a>. The residency program must provide comprehensive exposure to a wide variety of patient populations and treatment interventions.\u00a0 The goal of residency is to develop a competent orthotist\/prosthetist capable of delivering independent autonomous clinical care.<\/p>\n
