The\u00a0Access to Practice Professional Development Award<\/strong>s reflects the Live in Motion Foundation\u2019s commitment to strengthening every member of the mobility care team. These awards provide financial support for orthotic and prosthetic assistants and certified pedorthists to attend national educational conferences, expanding access to the latest clinical knowledge, emerging technologies, and professional development opportunities.<\/p>\n

By investing in lifelong learning for professionals across the continuum of care, the Foundation is helping build a stronger, more prepared workforce equipped to meet the evolving needs of patients. The knowledge and connections gained through these experiences extend far beyond the conference, enhancing clinical practice, improving patient outcomes, and advancing the future of orthotics, prosthetics, and pedorthics.<\/p>\n

We are proud to recognize the Spring 2026 Access to Practice Award recipient and celebrate their commitment to professional growth, excellence in patient care, and the continued advancement of mobility care.<\/p>\n

Christina Cole<\/strong>, CPed, CFo, COA, earned an Associate of Applied Science from Oakland Community College, where she developed an interest in biomechanics. This led her to pursue a career in orthotics, with a focus on how devices support patients in daily life. She became a Certified Orthotic Assistant in 2012, a Certified Fitter of Orthotics in 2014, and a Certified Pedorthist in 2015.<\/p>\n

Chrissy has a passion for the field of Orthotics and Prosthetics and values the opportunity to combine hands-on technical work with patient care. As an O&P Assistant, she leverages her strong fabrication and modification skills to improve outcomes for patients of all ages, while contributing to a dynamic and fast-paced clinical environment.<\/p>\n

“I am honored to be selected as a recipient of the 2026 Access to Practice | O&P Assistant Professional Development Award. This will be my first national conference, and I look forward to expanding my knowledge and skills. The experience will enable me to better support clinicians, contribute more effectively to patient care, and help more individuals achieve their mobility goals. I am committed to lifelong learning and continuously improving the quality of care I provide.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
