Are you a student or resident passionate about O&P? Do you have research to share? The Student Resident Poster Contest is your opportunity to showcase your research and shine on a national stage!

The American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (AOPA) is accepting submissions for two prestigious awards that recognize outstanding student and resident research at the 2025 National Assembly taking place September 3-6 in Orlando.

The Student Resident Poster Awards

Honoring two exceptional scientific papers presented in poster format, this award celebrates academic excellence and encourages future leaders to share their research with the O&P community.

  • The Otto and Lucille Becker Award recognizes the best orthotic abstract.
  • The Edwin and Kathryn Arbogast Award honors the best prosthetic abstract.

These awards are made possible by generous endowments from Becker Orthopedic and WillowWood respectively.

Award Recipients Receive:

  • $500 cash prize
  • Complimentary National Assembly registration
  • Coach-class airfare to the National Assembly
  • 3 nights hotel stay at the National Assembly hotel
  • Recognition for your sponsoring school

To qualify, submissions must be original (not previously presented or published), and the main author must be a current student (baccalaureate or master’s level) or a resident at a qualified patient care facility. Posters must be exhibited and presented at the 2025 National Assembly to be eligible for an award.

The submission deadline is May 16.
