June 2025 — The National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE) is proud to announce that Health Research, Inc. (HRI), on behalf of the Center for Health Workforce Studies (CHWS) at the University at Albany, State University of New York, has been awarded the contract for NCOPE’s Workforce Study. CHWS, a nationally recognized leader in health workforce research, will lead the study in collaboration with NCOPE.
This two-year project, funded with a $100,000 award and scheduled for completion in June 2027, will provide critical insights into the current and future landscape of the orthotic and prosthetic (O&P) workforce. The findings will support strategic planning for O&P education and clinical training and it will help ensure that the profession is well-equipped to meet the evolving needs of patients across the country.
NCOPE looks forward to working closely with HRI and CHWS to shape a more responsive and resilient O&P workforce for the future.
