The requirements to serve as a residency director or mentor are listed in the 2025 NCOPE Residency Standards under Standard IV. The requirements include a combination of education, post-certification/licensure experience, and completion of either the Online Residency Program Development Course sections I, II & III or the Approved Clinical Mentor (ACM) course within the last 3 years.
