Tamarack Mentored Pilot Research Grant | $10,000
Purpose: Supports residents and other emerging investigators in completing an orthotics-focused pilot research project under the structured guidance of an experienced research mentor.
Scope: Designed for clinically relevant, resident- or trainee-led projects that advance orthotic care, patient outcomes, or the evidence base supporting the profession.
Benefits: Provides meaningful project funding, structured mentorship, reviewer feedback, and accountability to help residents strengthen their research skills, generate preliminary data, and prepare for future research and funding opportunities.
Fall Microgrants | $3,000
Purpose: Provides flexible funding to help residents pursue feasible, well-defined projects that can be completed within the residency timeline.
Scope: Ideal for quality improvement initiatives, case series, clinical evaluation projects, and other focused activities that contribute to improved clinical practice or patient care.
Benefits: Offers residents an accessible entry point into research and evidence-based practice while helping them gain experience in project design, implementation, evaluation, and dissemination.
