Who should attend the resident fair?

This event has sessions relevant for:

  • Future Residents
  • Current Residents
  • Past Residents/O&P School Alumni
  • Residency Directors/Mentors
I'm a residency director or human resources professional at an NCOPE accredited residency site, how do we meet prospective residents?

Organizations that host accredited residency programs are welcome to participate and can request a booth until September 13, 2022.  Booths are being granted as available and priority is being granted in the following order:

  1. The residency site hires residents year over year (annually)
  2. The residency site advertizes residency positions and accepts applications using OPRESCAS
  3. The residency site demonstrates compliance with the NCOPE residency standards

To submit a request for a booth, please submit the Resident Fair Booth Request Form by Clicking HERE.

Will I Be Able to Chat With Residency Site Directors/Mentors/Representatives?

Yes!  The Airmeet system is configured to allow participants to chat 1 on 1 or in small groups.  It supports video/audio so please use a mobile device that has a webcam and microphone to make the most of this experience.

Friday 9/23 is dedicated to having prospective residents meet up with residency sites looking to fill residency positions during the Fall of 2022 or the Winter/Spring/Summer of 2023.

I would like to attend the alumni networking event, do you know when that will take place and how will it work?

Wednesday 9/21/2022 – 7:45 to 8:30 Eastern

Each O&P program will have its own virtual booth and virtual tables of 4-8 people where you can video chat and connect with your fellow alumni.

Will formal interviews be conducted at this event?

This event is tailored to small group dialogues and meet/greet formats.  Formal interviews will need to occur after the event once the candidate applies to the organization using OPRESCAS.

Can I chat with a current resident to learn what their experiences have been?

Yes!  Thursday evening, there is a speed networking event to allow you to easily connect current O&P students with current/recent residents who would like to share their personal experiences.

I cannot attend the entire day or session. Is it OK for me to come and go as my schedule allows?

Absolutely!  We recognize you’re a busy O&P professional and we appreciate your ability to engage in any way possible.

There are periods of time without scheduled events, what happens then?

If there is not a live presentation or focused meet/greet, please do take a moment and visit the exhibit hall (where you can learn about the O&P schools, residency sites, and sponsors even if a representative isn’t present), plus the lounge is open for you to chat and network as well.
