Orthotic & Prosthetic Technician Program Newsletter
Insights From the Editor-In-Chief
Hello,
If you are looking for an O&P technician who knows the differences between a KAFO and a TLSO, we’ve got your answer!
One of our goals at NCOPE is to introduce O&P technician students to O&P practices that are located outside of the city/state where the student is enrolled in an O&P Technology Program. We also want to help employers introduce their practice to technician students enrolled in one of the four O&P Technology Programs. Thus, early in 2022, we created the Employer Meet & Greet (EMG) sessions.
The EMG sessions are offered 2-3 times each month (fall, winter, spring) via a Zoom call transmitted to the students in the four programs with presentations by a new employer at each session. During the 2022-2023 years, the EMG sessions were most successful. Several students contacted an O&P practice after an EMG session and were hired following graduation.
We are eager to highlight your O&P practice through an introduction to O&P technician students at an Employer Meet & Greet session!
Warm Regards,
Ruthie
