A Resident is Attending a Regional/National O&P Meeting or a Full-Day Manufacturer Workshop, Does That Count Towards Any O&P Residency Requirement?

Attending a professional meeting or full-day continuing education event only counts if the resident is delivering a presentation at the meeting/event and is a listed speaker on the program.  The presentation must align with the current residency discipline as well.  Going to a professional meeting or continuing education course purely as an attendee does not meet any part of the NCOPE residency requirements.  NCOPE recognizes there is value in attending the meetings and courses, but clinical track activities and professional activities require the resident to create a tangible output such as a presentation or a case study.  Please visit the Clinical Track ResourcesResearch & Development Resources, and Professional Activity Resources pages for additional guidance.
