NCOPE Tracker does feature the ability to import data from both NextGen (used by Hanger Clinic) and OPIE. Regardless of which system is utilized, the data must be entered correctly into the EMR platform using appropriate workflows to populate case data in NCOPE Tracker.
Best Practices and Known Issues with Supported EMR Platforms: #
OPIE – The report needed for upload into NCOPE Tracker requires correct use of OPIE Scheduler where the resident is tied to a primary treating practitioner as an “assistant” including all cases where the resident is directly providing the care. To learn how to use OPIE Scheduler to ensure all case data is presented, please visit the support article dedicated to using the optimal work flow with the platform.
NextGen – The appointment type field can be represented with values different from the list of possible choices inside of NCOPE Tracker. NCOPE Tracker can only recognize the appointment types listed under “Create / Edit Dataset” menu within NCOPE Tracker. Cases uploaded with values outside of the acceptable range for NCOPE Tracker will be marked as “Missing Data” which is corrected by using the “Create / Edit Data Set” menu inside of NCOPE Tracker, not by manipulating the spreadsheet output of the EMR export tool. To learn more about correcting “Missing Data” including best practices with datasets generated within NextGen, please visit the Missing Data article POSTED HERE.
ForMotion Clinics and OttoBock Patient Care Export Tools – These tools were created independent of the EMR vendor used by these clinics and the methods to use these tools are proprietary to the company. Please contact the national residency program coordinator for these clinics for additional guidance.
The NCOPE staff cannot support 3rd party software made by EMR vendors. If the resident’s export data is inaccurate/incomplete, the resident must log all cases manually. The NCOPE staff reserves the right to disable EMR uploads for any resident when issues with data quality or timeliness occur.
